I am a disabled woman who lives alone. I am also a mobile home owner. It can be stressful when you need a home repair on a fixed income. It is even more stressful to hesitate to call a repair company out of fear. When I had a repair issue, I decided to take a leap of faith and call Applewood Plumbing. I'm so glad that I did. 7/14/10: "I did not have to wait for my repairs..."
Levi, the plumber, and Tony, the AC man were here simultaneously. I did not have to wait for my repairs. They were instantaneous. Both gentlemen were just that, perfect gentlemen. Their expertise is incredible. Best of all, when we reviewed my available funds together, they worked within my limits and Tony called to obtain permission to post date my check to assure funds would clear. I've been with Applewood for many years. Tony read his name on a sticker left on my furnace as well as the named of his brothers who had also serviced the furnace in the past. This past weekend we had a emergency situation in our home. Due to bad piping, my father's basement apartment flooded. Our landlords contacted your company to come out and resolve the messy situation (that's putting it lightly). Two of your gentleman - Chris Paillette and Chad Matelski arrived Sunday to tackle what we believed to be a HUGE and very difficult task ahead. Chris and Chad were friendly, polite, professional and aware of my family's needs which was SO very appreciated. Both of your employees generated a well thought out plan to resolve the issue. Chad and Chris worked incredibly hard for many hours each day in order to complete the job as quickly and efficiently as possible. They both did a remarkable job communicating professionally with their straight forwardness, the stages and progress of their work. This was our first encounter with Applewood and for me with plumbers, and I wanted to let you know that you have two outstanding employees who work very hard to go above and beyond what our expectations were coming into this situation. I would highly recommend both Chad and Chris and Applewood to friends families and others in need of your services!!! 7/13/10: "way beyond my expectations..."
We have used Applewood 2 times in the last 4 weeks. Both times have been way beyond my expectations. The first time was to help finish a job me and my father in law couldn't do ourselves. The company plumber came while I was at work and they sent my wife a picture of the plumber coming to the house so she would know who he was in advance. That made me feel very safe and secure with my wife and 8 month old baby at home. He finished the job in less than 20 minutes, then he fixed our toilet and that wasn't even why he was there… he did it for no charge! ( I don't remember the plumbers name from the first visit)… Our second experience was yesterday and today. Our heating element went out on our hot water heater and a plumber from Applewood showed up by the name of Greg Schieffer. He did the estimate, explained everything to me very clearly and gave us a few options. He didn't seem to be bothered by our 3 dogs, or my daughter trying to climb up the chair to see him. He actually gave my daughter a coloring book. Super nice guy. He was going to return that same evening and do the job but had to work late at another location, so I was his first stop this morning. He actually apologized for not being able to make it back last night. Who does that anymore? I was blown away. He was finished within 30 minutes. I will continue to be a loyal Applewood customer for any of the services that they offer. I became a gold club member and I'm sure we will use it a lot. 7/11/10: "you are the pros..."
My AC is old, loud and not cold...I called Applewood because of a friends advice...expecting to have to replace the entire unit I was very happy when my tech explained the only thing wrong with it was the inside motor...my AC is still old, but now it is quiet and cold at less than 20% of the cost of a new system...I called Applewood on a Friday afternoon and my AC was fixed before noon the next day. I generally do not write reviews, but I will gladly make an exception with our service from Applewood. We have been using Applewood since we bought our home in Denver four years ago and their service and business ethics are simply outstanding. A recent service by Marc went beyond my expectations as you do not usually have service representative recommend not spending money. Marc spent a great deal of time trouble shooting our problem and gave us a number of options. We followed his recommendation for the short term and will certainly take his recommendation for a replacement in the future. I strongly recommend Applewood for all of your home system needs. 7/8/10: "They have won a customer for life!!!"
I have a rental that I am making ready for new tenants. Upkeep on my rental house is very important to me. I took the day off to do some work on the house and on a whim I decided to see if I could get someone to look over the furnace and A/C. I had heard of Applewood and thought I would give them a call first. My experience with them from the time my call was answered until the time the dispatcher called to follow up on my job was super. I want to sincerely thank Matt B. for his outstanding service. He was truly professional and explained everything he was doing and went over the parts that needed replacement. Not only did he show me the new part and what was expected but he showed me the old part and exactly where it was failing. It seems that this day and age you do not get quality customer service but it appears that Applewood is bringing it back. They have won a customer for life!!!!! Thank you! -Scott H., Denver
7/8/10: "We don't pay for any overtime or weekend charges..."
We have been using Applewood Plumbing Heating and Electric for many years (previously as APH.) They have always had someone available who was extremely knowledgeable and were extremely courteous. Whether it was plumbing service or HVAC the problems were always resolved. Although they may not be the cheapest in town, ultimately the job seems to take far more than we would have estimated and to have had to pay an hourly rate would have ended up to cost more in the long run. We don't pay for any overtime or weekend charges which fit into our schedules very well. We have had the same plumber come over for different reasons and he has always been great and the most recent HVAC guy (he told us he was new to Applewood) did a great job for us as well and showed us a few things we could do to obtain maximum cooling in the upper level of our house. 7/7/10: "they just keep getting better..."
We have used Applewood plumbers, HVAC technicians and electricians for several years now and they just keep getting better. Our most recent call was for a leaking toilet. I wanted to fix this one myself but after carefully looking it over I could see it really required the services of a plumber… someone with expert training! The toilet was old (1950's) and the tank and drain seals were deteriorated badly. Applewood immediately scheduled a plumber to come out on a Saturday. They emailed me the photo and credentials of Chad M. He was very prompt, wore booties and protected the floor and walls with paper drapes carefully as he worked. He first checked our water pressure and hot water heater as a safety measure. Then he asked if we wanted to repair or replace our faulty old toilet. At first I wanted to keep the old porcelain beast. But once the toilet tank was removed it was obvious there was no way that we would feel comfortable putting back together this old antique water guzzler. So Chad gave us the estimate for a replacement with guarantee and he also repaired a leaky faucet as part of his service. Now we have a sparkling lovely new toilet that flushes fantastically (and it's a water-saver!) Each time that we have called Applewood we've gotten courteous and professional service. Our journeyman plumber Chad was very neatly dressed in a clean uniform, explained everything clearly and knowledgeably beforehand, giving us written estimates and was able to quickly solve our problems several hours before our company arrived! I had occasion to use Applewood Plumbing and Heating this past week. They arrived early rather than late. I knew who to expect and even had a photo of our serviceman. He explained everything up front and answered all of my questions. He was very pleasant and professional and finished the job on time and without any unexpected drama. 7/3/10: "I was very impressed..."
On Friday, June 25th, I called Applewood because I had discovered some significant water at the base of my heating and ac system. They responded by sending out a young man, Marty, who did a thorough job of diagnosis of what the problem could be and what was necessary to fix it. Because it required a new coil and pan set, he ordered one on the phone and said he would be back the next day to install it. The next day when he removed the old unit, his diagnosis was correct as a hole had rusted through the water collection pan which allowed the water to go directly to the floor. He was very professional and knowledgeable in answering all my questions, accomplishing the installation of the new unit, and checking out the whole system to assure that all was well. I was very impressed by him and by his work knowledge and ethic, and might I say, also with the young ladies from the office who kept me informed relative to when he was scheduled to be at my house and when he would get there. Everything about my experience with Applewood was great. They got me on their schedule for the next day. They called and were able to come to my home earlier than what was scheduled. The repairman was very knowledgeable and tried the simple fixes first but it ended up being the motor on the condenser. What was really great was he had the parts in his truck so there was no waiting for parts to arrive. He was very courteous and explained everything that he was doing. After the repairs were complete he even took the time to discuss other issues we had been having with our heating system. It was a good all around experience. Great job. -Jerry J., Centennial
6/29/10: "professionalism and courtesy..."
We have had Applewood Plumbing come out several times. They came out to fix and replace some of our faucets. But recently our sewer backed up in the basement. I was very impressed with the professionalism and courtesy I received from the office. Before technician Adolf G. came out at the top of the scheduled time slot, the office called to let us know he was on his way and offered to email his picture and credentials. Adolf was so friendly, courteous, respectful, professional and knowledgeable. He wore shoe covers every time he entered the house and removed them when going out. The curiosity of my dog while he was working never bothered him. He explained everything to us and after snaking the sewer line, scheduled for a camera line the next day at no charge. The next day Adolf and Jaime returned with the same courtesy, professionalism and friendliness explaining everything that we saw on the camera and our options to fix the sewer line. 6/25/10: "right on time..."
This is the first time I have used Applewood Plumbing Heating and Electric and from the first call answered by Julie through the final check up call after the work was done, I could not have been more pleased. I have an old AC/Heater unit in my condo that went out so I called Applewood and a technician was able to show up the same day. Julie gave me a choice of time and I asked if they would call ahead 45 minutes so I could get home from work and they not only called when they said, Dan the technician was right on time. He diagnosed the issue and I could hardly believe he had the right parts on his truck....that has never happened when I have had this unit repaired before. Everything with Applewood was an A+ experience and the customer service was fantastic! The plumber was experienced and made a quick diagnosis of my system and how to fix the problems.. He took the time to install lines so that it was not an eye sore. The whole repair was completed quickly. He also provided tips on operation and maintenance. I would refer my best friend to them. Pros: Fast scheduling and response time. 6/24/10: "Everything is running like it should be..."
We had our roof replaced and, in that process, our attic fan was damaged and replaced with a solar powered one. It never worked and the Roofing Contractor sent Mike Taglialavore from Applewood Plumbing & Heating. He asked a few questions and understood my concerns. While fixing the attic fan, he discovered a potentially dangerous situation. The wire from the damaged fan was hanging from the roof, still live!! He capped the wire and put it in a junction box, situation DONE !! Everything is running like it should be. Thank You Mike ! Pros: Mike Taglialavore was very profession and knowledgeable. Regarding Levi Torres... Levi has worked in my home before with a great attitude and working skills. Levi worked on my bathroom downstairs, rebuilt the toilet and sink drain. He worked in a timely fashion and showed me the way with the plumbing problems I had. Also Levi finished with going over what he had done and reviewing the list I had for more repairs. 6/22/10: "I truly had nothing to worry about..."
Our air conditioner stopped working and made for a pretty uncomfortable situation. I dreaded calling someone to fix the issue for fear of receiving an overpriced quote, due to my lack of knowledge in AC systems. Well, I truly had nothing to worry about… when I called to make an appointment the agent made me feel like my issue was a priority and got someone to my home the same day. Nate, our technician, was extremely knowledgeable, patient (with the many questions I asked) and efficient. Technicians are friendly, capable, qualified and professional. For many years I have used a different plumbing and heating service, but now I will only use Applewood Plumbing. They have helped me out with a difficult sewer pipe issue and an air conditioning problem. Each time they were able to come out quickly and met my needs. What more can you ask from a service company. 6/18/10: "Quickly got an appointment..."
Another HOT day coming up in Lone Tree and I forgot to call someone to fix the A/C, it is now after 6 PM. Called Applewood and they were there, and just great on the phone. Quickly got an appointment the next day at noon. The next morning I got a call asking if I wanted an earlier appointment time, WOW and they even sent me the Tech's Bio and photo by email (very cool & classy). A very experienced Chris arrived 90 minutes earlier than scheduled. Extremely pleasant and polite, got right to work and found the broken wire... We had A/C in no time. 6/17/10: "They went beyond what was necessary..."
Applewood has Superior customer service! Highly Recommended! I needed a basic AC Tune-up and cleaning service done since I'd neglected to do so for the past 5 years. I called around to several local companies and decided on Applewood - I'm glad I did. They were willing to work with my schedule and got me an appointment the same week even though this was not an emergency issue. Other companies were telling me about 2 weeks out. In addition I saw an online Tom Martino video specifically about AC tune-ups and the extensive checklist they go through. They were running a special so the price was great. Without a doubt, the best service call I have ever experienced. They called within an hour of the technician getting here to let me know he would arrive soon. Then asked if I would like an email with the picture and certifications. I said absolutely. Within seconds I was reading an impressive list of qualifications and seeing the picture of the person who would be doing the work. He arrived in the planned time window and got right to work. Extremely professional and he did an excellent job. When everything was finished he went over everything he had done and showed me on a written checklist and answered all the questions I had. I have had many service techs out to my house over the years for various reasons and I can without a doubt say Applewood gave me the best impression and customer service. They went beyond what was necessary and I will be doing business with them in the future. I'm running the AC right now and it's working great! We recently contacted Applewood for a service call on our air conditioning unit. The phone representative was extremely helpful and made an appointment for a tech to come to place within 48 hours even though they were inundated with calls and appointments, yet worked us in. Once the tech arrived (he was very polite) he quickly identified the issue and made the repairs within a half an hour. He was happy to explain the problem and even show me exactly how he fixed the issue. The pricing was very reasonable and now our house is cool again. 6/14/10: "...the only company I will be using in the future"
WONDERFUL! Applewood Plumbing Heating and Electric was great! They came out to look at my air conditioner last week. We had had another company prior look at the air conditioner and they quoted us $1575 for repairs. When Chris from Applewood showed up he was great. He was on time and friendly. He was so so nice to my girls. He looked at the air conditioner and told me it would be under $600 to fix. Then he explained in terms I understood what was wrong with it. Chris then suggested another maintenance part for the air conditioner, which we decided against at this time. Which he was fine with! Chris also looked at our sump pump and gave us a quote on how much it would be to fix it. Chris was great! 6/14/10: "The county inspector said his work was "perfect..."
We are well satisfied with the electrical work done recently at our home by Vic . He was always prompt and efficient and was able to do all the work required including operating a large trencher and Bobcat to backfill the trench required for new buried lines. The county inspector said his work was "perfect" when he inspected the main service panel which had been totally replaced. His customer service was outstanding at all times. Applewood Plumbing certainly came to our rescue when we found water cascading down our basement wall recently. They arrived soon after our distress call and quickly located the problem. Ken, the technician, carefully explained the situation and the solution. He gave us an accurate estimate of time, materials and cost. Ken returned the next day, a Sunday, after being on-call the previous evening and repaired the problem. Ken was careful to explain the job and answered all our questions. Applewood was very prompt and thorough. They called an hour ahead to indicate they would e-mail a photo and credentials of the technician who would be coming to our home. We had both the AC and Furnace inspected and a maintenance check. Art, the technician was very thorough and provided advice and information. We had questions about the whole-house humidifier and got specific detailed information. The technician made recommendations without a "hard-sell". 6/10/10: "I feel I got awesome work for my money"
I called the first 12 HVAC companies in the phone book and Applewood was the only one who would come to my house and find the problem and tell me how much it would be for free. My tech Matt B. was great. He explained every part of my system to me and found the problem very fast. I feel I got awesome work for my money and I will call Applewood next time I have a problem. They had a scale to weigh my Freon I needed so I know I was getting what I paid for. Great company I would recommend to anyone. 6/10/10: "...pleased and a little surprised..."
I called Applewood when my air conditioning died. Marty arrived within the appointment time window. He examined the outside unit and found that all of the refrigerant had leaked out and showed me where and likely why. Not a gigantic surprise since the unit was old and starting to rust. He walked me through the details of what would be involved in a repair - which was a lot- and then gave me options for repair and replacement costs. Since the replacement cost was not much more than repair I decided to replace, and was pleased and a little surprised that he could complete that afternoon. Marty had arrived about 1:00 PM and by about 5:30 the replacement AC was installed and running. Marty was pleasant, knowledgeable and really professional - even put up with my dogs in the back yard. 6/7/10 : "...an unexpected courtesy..."
It was Saturday morning and like usual you want to wake up with a cup of coffee and a shower. Well the coffee was working and I guess I really needed waking up cause the shower was ice cold. Went down stairs to relight the pilot light on the Hot Water Heater and no dice, knob won't go to pilot. I called three plumbing companies and Applewood was the only one available the next day for a reasonable price, and Amy was a treat to speak with. Zach was the plumber that showed up, ON TIME, (a bit on the younger side) put on cloth slips over his shoes (it was an unexpected courtesy), went down stairs and looked at the Hot Water Heater told me what was wrong and listed my options. Zach was very knowledgeable, pleasant, and competent. After I decided that a new water heater was the plan he went outside got what he needed and to work he went. He laid drop clothes down prior to beginning, (again it was an unexpected courtesy), He explained what he was doing every step of the way, not usual for most, and after completing the project (He ensured all was brought up to new code, yes I looked it up), ensured I knew how to light the pilot, how to shut it down, and gave me the paperwork with transferable warranty. It is rare anymore to find a company that treats you with respect and wants to make sure your happy with what is going on. I guess you could call it making sure the customer experience is as good as they could make it. Chris just left. While his inspection found an unpleasant surprise (condenser part needed replacement, condensers needed cleaning) that cost over $600, I was most pleased with his service. 6/4/10 : "They take time to answer all my questions..."
Applewood lets you know up front exactly how much a service costs. There are no surprises. I have needed a few service calls to my old house. Everyone has been on time, courteous (actually more than this, they are nice), extremely knowledgeable, and they clean up/vacuum up when they are done. They also take time to answer all my questions and offer suggestions that make it easier for me to understand. This is my first central A/C unit, so I had lots of questions and Chris was really good about explaining what to do and letting me take notes to make sure I was OK before he left. Applewood gets the job done right the first time, every time. I had to call them as the air conditioner was not operating/ The tech found the control wire had been pulled loose and reattached it using a cable system so it will not happen again. 6/3/10 : "I wanted competency and the ability to fix my problem..."
Completely happy with our service from Applewood! Due to our house settling, our main water line coming into the house sprung a leak... prior to our in house shut off (thus requiring street shut off). Of course this happens on a weekend. I looked up several plumbing outfits early Sunday morning - I of course wanted a good deal, but more importantly, I wanted competency and the ability to fix my problem that day. Called Applewood and they said they would have someone out that afternoon. Chad was the plumber who came to the house that afternoon - at first appearance, he was definitely on the younger side. After showing him the problem, he quickly trouble shot on how to make the fix (the leak was in a very TRICKY position to say the least). After some discussion, he came up with a great solution and further recommendations on additional house settling issues. Before starting the work, he gave me an "all in" price - so I knew exactly how much it was going to be when he finished. Chad was highly personable and a pleasure to do business with - I would HIGHLY HIGHLY recommend Chad on any plumbing job! He did fantastic with my 2-1/2 year old daughter running around as well. Superb company. Serviceman arrived on time, was extremely courteous and friendly. Although my problem resolved right before he arrived, he still checked everything else out that might have accounted for the problem and spent a good amount of time -- at no charge-- making sure all was in order. In addition, I had another unrelated problem which he courteously told me how to fix myself quite simply, which also saved me another service call and expense. This is to let you know what a great job Art Schieffer did on the house call for the servicing of my air conditioning unit. He was prompt and courteous, and introduced himself in a professional manner. He looked over the unit and in less than 10 minutes he had the problem diagnosed. He explained the problem and the solution in words a person was able to understand, quoted the price of the repair, and upon my approval completed the work needed. Art was pleasant and explained all as he worked, his expertise and knowledge of his profession was quite evident and he completed the job efficiently and quickly -and left the area clean when finished. This is an excellent company all-around. I've had a variety of plumbers and electricians work on my home in the past and have never really been satisfied. I had needed my furnace, air conditioner, and central humidifier looked at along with a toilet and a shower. Nathan was right on time and was able to take care of ALL of it at once. He was very thorough, and serviced and fixed everything that needed it. Took a look at everything and then showed me exactly what it was going to cost to do all the work up front, and wasn't pushy about anything. My experience with Applewood Plumbing and Heating was phenomenal. First, I got an appt for the very next day, in the morning, which was ideal. Then I was notified that the technician would be arriving between the hours of 8 and 10, and he was even on the early side. The caller asked if I wanted an email to show me who was coming and his credentials. Amazing. The call came in at 6:51 am, so a bit early, but not a problem really. Next, the technician, Chris, was clean and very knowledgeable, and went above and beyond the call of duty, and tightened two loose faucets. On April 26th we were checking our sump pump (which you installed for us) and couldn't figure out why it wasn't pumping the water out. It was almost fill and it if would've overflowed we would've had an emergency. Eric White responded to our call and was at our home in a couple of hours. Eric found the problem right away. The man who blew out our sprinklers in the fall had dislodged the cord to the sump pump! Well the sump pump can't work if there isn't any electricity to it. The water was pumped out in a minute. How very grateful we were to Eric as we avoided a very serious problem. We had Walt Frizzell out on April 25th to install an electrical box on our peninsula in the kitchen. He always has such good suggestions and always finds the best solution. We now have a new dedicated circuit GFCI outlet for our convenience, which we have needed. We also had an electrical problem in the bedroom as we needed more outlets for my husband's sleep apnea equipment. As usual Walt had the answer as it was complicated since we finished our basement. We have all of our electrical needs taken care of at this time (we think we can't do any more but we always seem to find something!!) I bought a new washing machine last week. The person who installed it told me he thought I had a water leak in one of the shut-off valves. A few hours later I had a big puddle of water near the machine. I called Applewood because they had done some work for me before. I was able to mop up the water and there wasn't any more after I did that. I wanted some reassurance that I didn't have a problem on my hands. Applewood sent Chad Matelski out. He listened patiently to my description of what happened. He replaced the washing machine faucets and said he thought that would work, but I needed to have some other work done that I just couldn't afford right now. He told me I'd probably be OK with just the faucets and when I could afford it, I should call him back and he'd come back and do it. It was April 23rd and of course Denver weather, I tried to turn on my furnace and no heat, freezing in the house. I called Applewood Plumbing. I have never used them before. I found them in the Dex yellow pages. When I look for companies I have never used before I always look for the BBB logo. The representative on the phone set up the appointment that day. She gave me a 2 hours window which is awesome since most companies give you a 4 hour window, which takes up your whole day. Applewood Plumbing called and said they could send someone out early which was great. He arrived at my house and within a minute he knew what was wrong. Having suffered for many months with a growing list of minor (but irritating!) plumbing problems, and never having the time to even pick up the phone; I was thrilled to see an Appplewood truck at a neighbor's home a few days ago. The technician happily asked me to call the main #, which I did on the spot. A cheerful agent answered and set up an appointment for the next day. About 30 minutes before the appointment was to begin, a customer service rep called me to say that the technician was on his way. Nathan McComis arrived to my great surprise 10 minutes earlier than scheduled. I dragged him around my home quickly pointing out 6 plumbing issues that needed repair. Within minutes he had diagnosed and presented the options, I was on my way to Home Depot to buy a few new plumbing fixtures, and my home was on its way to plumbing health. Nathan was courteous, prepared, professional, friendly to my husband and tolerant of my yappy lapdog. He wore booties so as not to soil my white carpets. He repaired everything with no leakage, and put everything back the way he found it. I was delighted with the experience. While I am certain had I shopped around that I might have found a less expensive company with which to do business, my time is more valuable to me than anything else, and I prefer a situation where I know exactly what I am getting for how much and can have it done there and then without the need for repeat visits. Nathan was a pleasure, a credit to the company, I will ask for him again next time I have any plumbing/HVAC issues. This guy was really honest - he didn't even charge me. He came out, looked at the plumbing, said it was fine, told me that I didn't need what I thought I needed, and told me a much simpler solution instead. I asked him how much my original request would have cost, and he said, maybe $300-500. This guy could have charged me for something I didn't need, but he didn't. He was really honest about it, even sort of funny, it was so simple it was sort of embarrassing, and he didn't seem to mind at all. We talked for a few minutes about the plumbing, he explained what was going on, and he left, no problem. I recommend these people. I have never seen a plumber do something like that, be honest even to the point of his own disadvantage. Craig from Applewood Plumbing Heating & Electric came out today to investigate my loss of electrical power in my basement. I was extremely pleased with his demeanor, intelligence and willingness to go the "extra mile" to ensure that my issue was taken care of. There was absolutely no rush and he investigated every avenue to determine what resolution was necessary. I appreciated the fact that he ensured that I understood what caused the issue and even corrected some minor issues with other electrical issues. An added bonus? I did not pay a trip fee, which delighted me. And this company's website contains coupons, one of which I was able to utilize for this visit. In my initial call to this company, the rep who answered the phone was knowledgeable, polite and sympathetic to my concerns. They were able to provide a service rep in less than 5 hours. As I do manage a call center, I am a stickler for being provided with excellent customer service and Applewood did not disappoint me. Hello - I am sending this email as opposed to the comment card. Unfortunately the type of customer service and overall professionalism I have just experienced with Applewood is the exception as opposed to the norm. I cannot begin to tell you how impressed I was and am with Applewood. I sent email on 3/31 basically inquiring about getting leak fixed in my house. Within 10 minutes of sending the email I was contacted by phone by a very courteous and informative young lady. I set up the appointment for Monday, April 5th between 10 a.m. and noon. Monday - I received a prompt, courteous call from Applewood dispatch at approximately 9:00 a.m. letting me know that the technician would be at my house between 10 and 10:30. The gentleman also offered to email or fax the credentials and photo of the technician if needed. 10:15 a.m. SHARP - Nathan arrived at my house and immediately assessed the situation, provided me with a quote and made some recommendations to to the advantages of re-routing the problem area as opposed to fixing the leak only. I also asked if he could properly replace/repair some hack repairs I have made over the years to ensure they were done properly. Nathan quickly put together a quote as well as explained (but did not pressure) the advantages of joining your "club". I gave the green light to do the repair right then. Nathan started the repair at about 10:30 a.m. - I have to leave to get back to the office by 12:30. The repairs were 85% done at the time I had to leave so I paid the bill and left Nathan to finish up. I received a call from dispatch at 1:15 p.m. that Nathan had completed the repairs and left the house. When I got home the entire garage area was cleaned - no scraps, drywall chunks laying around at all. The chair he used was replaced and cleaned. The hose re-attached and coiled. Water turned back on and all faucets checked. The door was locked as I requested and even the lights were turned out. Again - This type of customer service is unfortunately unheard of any more. You should take great pride in your business and reputation as well as giving Nathan a "thanks" from me and pat on the back. You have a loyal customer and THANKS very much. Let me start by saying, "when you are looking for plumbing repair you will go with someone you know." Well Applewood is that place. I have used Applewood on a previous occasion. That job was done by a technician-professional, an individual who took pride in the work and cleaned up after the project. Well this time was no different. The technician arrived on time, asked what the problem was and proceeded to make the repair. The attention and approach to the task was professional. He took the time to evaluate the problem, get the appropriate tools and make the repairs. He kept his work area clean (well as clean as you can keep a work in progress!) When the job was done he asked me to make sure it was done to my expectations. Johnny asked if I understood the terms of the warranties and company guarantees. He cleaned up the area and left. I received a call within minutes to confirm job completion and my satisfaction. Without a doubt the Applewood technicians will be my first call. I bought my house 30+ years ago. I'm the only owner, therefore it is in my best interest to ensure that repairs are done to my satisfaction. Extremely high professionalism! Our 22 year old furnace began making some noise on a recent Saturday. Remembering seeing orange Applewood trucks in the past, I checked them out on the BBB website and decided to give them a call. A gentleman named Chris took my call and scheduled me for the following morning (a Sunday and no additional weekend service charge). Sunday morning Chris called to say the tech was on his way and that he would be happy to e-mail me his picture and qualification. Marty arrived right on time. After putting on his plastic shoe covers to protect our floors he quickly assessed the problem and had it corrected in short order. It doesn't seem often enough that you find truly professional service people; that take pride in their work; do what is necessary and don't try to sell you unnecessary services. Courteous, Professional, Prompt Service! My toilet (about 3 years old) had had a slow leak in the tank for quite some time and I had planned to replace the inner workings myself but never got around to it. I finally called a small contractor and was surprised to find that she had never seen anything like what was in my tank and she suggested I call a plumber as she felt if she put the tank back on it would definitely leak outside the toilet. A friend had raved about Applewood plumbing helping her get her previous house ready to sell and problems fixed in her new house so I decided to call. Everyone I dealt with was extremely courteous and patient (I was pretty frazzled by this time). They were able to send someone out that afternoon and even emailed a picture and bio of Chris so that I would know who would be coming to my house. I was even more surprised when Chris was unsure about the setup in my toilet tank but he persevered and was able to find a part, which unfortunately he wouldn't have until the next day. I was overwhelmed to find that the cost would be about 5 times what I had expected to pay for what I had thought would be a simple service and had a small meltdown. Chris remained very professional and was compassionate while offering me alternatives. In the end I went with replacing the parts and was very pleased that Chris was able to return the next morning at 9 AM and completed the repair in a very short amount of time. Several times in the two days I called the office with questions and they were answered quickly and courteously. Although the repair ended up taking more time and money than I had anticipated, everyone at Applewood Plumbing was extremely helpful, professional and courteous. We recently had our furnace go out and it was just blowing cool air. The fan was working, but no heat. After several calls to friends asking what it could be, I called Applewood and scheduled an appointment. My pleasant experience began when they called to confirm and advised they are ahead of schedule - which worked for me as it was going to be a cold evening in Denver. Chris came out - determined that it was a simple problem - dirty vent, and something else that was dirty, that he cleaned. He went above and beyond and explained exactly what he did. He also explained to me other issues that he recommended needed some attention. I am not mechanically inclined, but the professionalism and attention to detail that the Applewood technicians display, are certainly an example for others to follow. I am now a proud gold member of Applewood, and will NOT call anyone else for my future repairs. I have also recommended Applewood to my friends and family. What an Experience!! We have a Delta sink faucet. For years, the head provided powerful sprays that could almost wash a car. One day, it began to trickle out. We tried for weeks to figure out what it could be. We had 2 journeymen plumbers try to fix the problem. They had us order a new faucet head from and Delta, They finally determined that we would need to spend $350 to install a new faucet. I just wasn't convinced. Then Jake form Applewood Plumbing came out. In 5 minutes he found a rubber plug blocking the flow of H2O in the supply line, used a small tool to dislodge it, hooked up the system again and the H20 pressure blew the plug right out! Guess what. I thought I had one relatively simple plumbing problem, but unfortunately there were a number of things that needed to be fixed. I appreciated that they stayed and did all the work the same day instead of having to schedule the work for another day. I was especially happy with the plumber, Greg. He was extremely polite and worked about 9 hours virtually non-stop. After recently breaking her hip, my mother-in-law moved to a senior living center and put her 3 bedroom town home up for sale. Her townhome was under contract very quickly and an inspection was scheduled. The inspector looked at her 35 year old boiler system and said that it needed cleaning and adjusting. My mother-in-law had always used a nationally affiliated company to service her furnace and we called them and set up an appointment. My wife met the “tech” that came out at the town home. After a couple of minutes in the furnace closet, he told my wife he needed to show her something. Flames were rolling out of the boiler unit and the pressure on the expansion chamber was too high. He told her the entire unit needed to be replaced, that the furnace was unsafe to leave on and he shut it off. Cost of replacement after negotiation, $7500.

Thankfully we chose to call Applewood Plumbing and Heating, partly because of their local reputation and partly because they were open early. My 6 AM phone call resulted in an 8 AM appointment. Their technician was on time, cleanly dressed and very courteous. Initially he was concerned about the cold reading on the expansion tank, but went ahead and re-ignited the pilot light. The flames came leaping out again and he realized the gas valve was open all the way. After adjusting the valve, the flame burned normally. He shook his head and said “oldest trick in the book”. It turned out that the cold water pressure on the expansion chamber also returned to a normal range after adjustment. The unit came up to operating temperature and worked perfectly.

My wife and I just moved to the Denver area from out of state. We recently bought a foreclosure, which was completely trashed. The only appliances that were left behind were the dishwasher, washer and dryer. Once we moved in we decided to do some laundry and come to find out the cold water connection to the washer was spewing out gallons of water. I called Applewood, based on a family recommendation and they were able to set up an appointment for us the next day. Greg was the technician who came out to the house. He explained how Applewood service works and then was able to diagnose the problem with the cold water valve. We had recently moved in to our home and the boiler in our home heating system was not working properly and I wasn't sure who to call. The previous owner had given us a file of home repairs and warranties and I found receipts for maintenance on the boiler by Applewood Plumbing and Heating so I called. Julie took my call and sold me. She assured me that they had very experienced technicians who were very familiar with boiler systems and that they would come out and check it out. Dave came out and looked the whole system over and told me that there was some parts that needed to be replaced to get it working but that overall it was in good condition. The boiler is working fine now but we will need to have a few more parts replaced over the next year or so to keep it in top working order. The repairs that we needed were done and not anything extra. Dave went over with me the things that will need to be replaced in the future and about how much they will cost and about when they will need to be done. He also explained how my boiler system works and I now know how to tell if it is working properly, how to maintain it, and what will need to be done in the future. The rates were $120 just to come out and $52 for every 15 minutes they were there - that didn't include the work that was needed! I needed a complete upgrade to my electrical panel. Walt was the technician who was sent to do the free estimate. He was courteous, professional, and was especially patient with all of my tedious questions. I decided to hire Applewood after this consultation, and when Walt came back to do the job a few days later, he was once again professional, courteous and patient (he even put covers on his shoes when he came in the house). The job was done in a timely fashion, Walt took every care to clean up after the job was done, and he took the time to overview everything that had been done. I had been recommended Applewood. I was skeptical, but decided to give it a try. I called the number on a Thursday, and the Julie who answered the phone could not have been more polite, professional, helpful and patient. She explained about the company including the hours and their billing. I asked when their first available was, it was on Friday. Friday did not work for me, so she asked about Saturday. I told her I did not want to pay extra in fees. She explained that the fees were not different for the weekends. We booked the appointment on Saturday. The technician, Jake, was prompt, friendly, and knowledgeable. After fixing the problem, he cleaned everything up! I would HIGHLY recommend this company to anyone! Highly Recommended! Our furnace went out early yesterday morning. We called Applewood to find out how soon they could come out. Not only did they have an appointment slot available immediately, they called back to tell us their technician was on his way and to ask if we would like an email with his picture and credentials. I live in my house for the moment, but when I rent it out next year I will certainly use Applewood for all of my plumbing and electric needs. The technician came over within thirty minutes of the call and quickly diagnosed a faulty wiring problem. Within minutes it was fixed and everything was working smoothly again. Most places come and charge you just for looking only to tell you it cannot be fixed. Not only did my technician diagnose my problem free of charge he suggested preventive maintenance so I would not encounter issues in the future. We had an electrical emergency. Vic came out to take a look. Unfortunately, we are in an older building and the electrical box needed to be replaced. I travel and my elderly mother was home alone. Vic move the furniture and did excellent job, in addition to being very kind and patient with my mother during the entire process. Vic returned the next day to finish the work and noticed that we had a leak in the ceiling. Vic called the office while they were waiting for John to come, he moved furniture, helped take down the damaged ceiling and assisted John in cleaning up the mess. John was very professional also. Leaking pipe - worth the money! Just had a 12 foot section of pipe with three joints replaced in my crawlspace. Service was great as they called ahead, sent a phot of the tech that was on the way (included with a list of qualifications), and completed the work in a timely fashion. Tech was very respectful of my home and the area he was working in, cleaning up after himself as he went. The new pipe he installed looks great and is working better than ever. Ahh precious children. My 5 yr. old daughter decided to help me clean... with only the best intentions she wiped the sink, tub, mirrors they looked beautiful. What I didn't know is she was flushing wads and wads of kleenex down the toilet. It was hard to go down so she just kept flushing and flushing. Great Service and Prompt Response! My kitchen sink disposal had been broken for some time, and one morning it not only stopped draining, but also began spewing up yuckiness. I called at 9:30 AM, and a tech arrived at 11:00 AM the same morning. He gave me a several choices ranging from attempting fixing the disposal, installing a disposal I already had, or replacing it with one of their disposals. Last Wednesday I was vacuuming and pulled out a wire in my hot water heater - I had no idea what it was called. Applewood came out and just plugged it back in at no charge. I thought it was broken. I woke up with a drip from a pipe in my basement--never a good sign. They were able to send someone out that day and when Kevin showed up he put on his booties and went down to have a look. As it turns out, it was not a pipe problem at all but a tile problem in our shower. He explained it clearly and suggested that our upcoming remodel should come sooner rather than later. He suggested a fix until the remodeling is started but again, the pipe I thought was involved was perfectly fine. The best part was NO CHARGE for the service call. I am the caregiver of an 88 yr old man. Our very old, cranky furnace went out on a cold Feb. night. Judy was kind and polite and got someone out to us. They had to come at 1:30AM and left at 3:30AM! Matt was unfailingly polite, cheerful and competent. The next day and next night, the furnace had problems (I did say it was cranky, right?) Matt responded to all our calls. He was the same - cheerful, polite and competent. He kept at it until all the problems with our furnace were cleared up and we had heat again. Even walking me through some maintenance issues on the phone. It was a true pleasure doing business with Applewood and Matt. Yesterday I awoke to no heat and the temperature was 50 degrees in my house and falling fast. Applewood was the only company that could get a technician to my house within the next couple of hours. Dave Olite arrived at my house on time and was very professional. He checked out my furnace and discovered the problem quickly. He provided a price that I thought was very reasonable and he had all the parts on his truck and was able to make the repair quickly. Since the furnace is very old, he also warned me of possible headaches to come. Great Community Values! My furnace blower motor went out the other day. I guess they do that sometimes. I called Applewood and scheduled an appt for the same day. Judy on the phone was very polite, understanding and professional. I subsequently felt the furnace kick in again and cancelled my appt thinking it must be a fluke. Judy once again was courteous and helpful on the phone. An hour later the furnace stopped again and I called again and was helped to make appt first thing in the morning. That evening, dispatch called to confirm the appt. The next morning the office confirmed the appt. I thought this business is pretty professional. My appt was at 9am. It got pretty cold over night. I guess in the lower 50s in the house. I was told to look for an email with the technician’s picture and name. This proved to be true. I thought this was a nice touch, but did not think anyone would be coming to my house at 9am in a bright red truck who did not work for Applewood, but it was a nice touch, and I would imagine that this feature helps many people feel safer and provides a trail of who is coming to the house. David was my service technician. He came to the door, placed booties on his shoes so as not to mess up my carpet and floors with wet snow and assessed the situation in only a few minutes. He called for parts and these were delivered in a timely manner by a runner. It took him only an hour to fix the furnace and inspect it for any other issues. There were none. He was friendly, courteous and obviously knew what he was doing. It is always nice to work with dedicated and experienced professionals. He gave me pointers regarding maintenance and cleaning and went on his way. I found the experience very efficient and professional and satisfying and I wish more companies operated in such a professional manner. I guess I would have liked the option to refuse the two year warranty, but it appears that type of job is packaged and has a set price. I really appreciate the friendly and professional attitude of your company and will call again if I have a need to. Thanks for helping me get warm again. Additionally, I am please to work with a company that gives back to the community. Noteworthy the charitable values that Applewood embraces. Many of us work pay check to pay check and when we have to put out a large amount of money to fix something like our furnace, it is good to know that the company I am paying, makes an effort to use some of its income to help those less fortunate, because I do not always have the extra at the end of the month to do so myself. Best customer service around! We just had Applewood come out to give us a free estimate on an electrical job. I'm a stay at home mom and I usually get scared or nervous about having workmen at the house. Applewood was so great though. They e-mailed me a picture and bio of the electrician they were sending to my house before he arrived. I felt so much better and even forwarded that e-mail on to my husband so there was a "trail" of exactly who was in our house and when which made us both feel so much better. On a cold night in February, our furnace stopped working. As we looked for places to call Applewood Plumbing caught our attention. First, we were able to make an appointment at 8:30 at night for the following day. What a relief to know someone was coming in the morning. The next impressive concept Applewood has established is that they offered to send me an email photo of the technician. I greatly appreciated the care Applewood took with concern to my family. The technician arrived on time, diagnosed the problem, and fully explained my options. He was able to answer all of questions and explain them so that I could make the right decision for our house. Last month in January, our family woke up to a very cold house. After figuring out that the furnace was out, we called Applewood since we have used them years ago in the past. They came out immediately and the repair was done the same day! The call center called to tell me that the technician would be at our house soon, offered to send an email of a photo of the tech and called again after the visit to get a verbal affirmation that the job was done satisfactorily. Then 2 weeks later, our washing machine hose hookup was broken and again we called Applewood. Again the plumber came out the same day and the repair was done immediately. The call center called to tell me that the plumber was on the way and again after the call to ask how the service was. Both techs were extremely courteous and explained the problems and subsequent repairs in terms we could understand. I have used Applewood twice and both times have been very satisfied. The first time I called them I had a drain problem that previous plumbers had not been able to fix satisfactorily. The problem turned-out to be rather complicated and Applewood was up to the task, diagnosing and fixing the problem. The next time I needed a plumber, I called Applewood and they sent a plumber promptly who figured out that I needed some new piping and did a fine job replacing the damaged pipes. I found the staff to be courteous and helpful. They explained what was going on and listed my options. One of the service technicians even fixed an ancient diverter hose that I had not been able to find parts for and found a way to fix it without the need for new parts and there was no charge! A home inspection after the sale of our house revealed that one of our hard wired smoke alarms was not "talking" to the others. Feeling confident that we could correct the problem ourselves, we headed down to the local home improvement store and purchased a replacement unit only to discover the problem continued. After hours of head scratching with no results, we called Applewood for help. Walt arrived within a couple of hours, ran a diagnostic test and discovered that the replacement unit we had purchased that same day was defective! He had a compatible unit in his truck, made the switch, and all our smoke alarms were once again in sync and talking. We have been having an intermitted issue with our furnace, which are very difficult to find. Applewood sent Chris out to diagnose and repair. Chris showed up on time and spent about an hour testing, but of course this is one of those issues that don't happen when the tech is there. He provided tips for what to watch for in the future and said he would not charge for the inspection, but to call him the next time it occurs. I'm sure some companies would have pressured me into a tune-up and scared me to place unnecessary parts for their own profit. I recently had a water heater repair done by Applewood Plumbing. This is the second time I have called upon Applewood for plumbing and heating repair in the last two years. I had noticed their orange trucks in my neighborhood and in talking to the neighbors received glowing reports of their efficiency and reliability - I couldn`t agree more. When you call in you will talk to a courteous staff member who will give you a specific time and even tell you the name of the person who will be doing the repair. In my case Tony responded to my call and within a short time explained my options of either repairing or replacing the water heater. I decided to repair and the work was accomplished quickly with a warranty on the replaced parts. Woke to a cold house, and called Applewood at 6am. By 8:15am, David was on-site and working the issue. Very professional and competent. David took the time to explain the issue and my options. Here's the deal gang: He had several opportunities to upsell me, and to repair/replace un-needed parts. He did not take advantage of that. David replaced one part, and got my furnace running again. He did point out several concerns and some components that looked to fail in the next year or so. I tested him by asking him "so should I go ahead and replace this now?" His response was "No, get as much time as you can out of it". I did note that the few negative postings that there were on this site mentioned a higher cost with Applewood. Think again about that. How many contractors these days operate with integrity? How confident are you of your own ability to know which parts have broken and need replacement? What would have happened with most other contractors is that you would have gotten a "great deal" on $750 worth of stuff you didn't even need. You’re money ahead with Applewood. I have used their company for several issues, but the most recent was great as always. I will comment on it. I went to do dishes at my kitchen sink and turned on the garbage disposal and nothing. So at Monday 11 AM I called them and the customer service rep said we can be out at Monday 2 PM, will that work for you? I said that would be wonderful. I got a call at noon and they said our tech is running early and could come right over. Jake showed up a little while later. Pressed and dressed to the nines. He was with his manager for a check ride. They were both pleasant and efficient. I threw them a curve with wanting a new faucet also. Jake didn't have it on his truck so the manager ran and got it so it wouldn't put him behind. I love that they are so clean. They put down mats and paper to stop any water or dirt. The estimate is always right on the money, never any extras. When he was done he offered to put the things I had stored under the sink back, but I said I needed to clean under there and he didn't have to do that. He asked if all of my previous plumbing jobs they had done were still working to top quality. I said yes, and he asked if I needed any other jobs done. He took all the trash with him and the old parts. Always a wonderful experience. I work in customer service so I know what it takes to please a customer. My furnace stopped working around 10:00pm and I called Applewood to schedule an appointment. Because it was after hours I was concerned that I would have to pay an additional fee. I asked the repairman if I would be OK to wait until the next day given that the forecast was for the temperature to fall to 0 degrees that night. He estimated that the temperature in my house would fall approximately 5-8 degrees over a twelve hour period and that I would probably be OK until the morning. I scheduled an appointment for first thing in the morning. His prediction was correct the temperature fell from 66 to 60 over night. The repairman arrived on time and the service was excellent. When he arrived the first thing he did was put clean covers over his shoes to prevent tracking in dirt. I needed a new electric starting which he had in his truck. He replaced it in less than 20 minutes and the furnace is now working perfectly. I have put their sticker on my furnace and will definitely call them again if I need service. -Randy S., Aurora

I was nervous about not knowing anything about the company, but the lady who took my call was reassuring and professional. My furnace was failing to operate correctly. I called Applewood at 7:00 pm and they were able to schedule a technician at 9:00 am the following morning. Dan, the technician, was on time and diagnosed the problem quickly. He provided me with a total cost prior to proceeding with any work. In addition, I requested some information on alternative, more efficient, furnace systems. He was able to provide me with all of the information that I needed to make an informed decision about the repair / replacement of my existing furnace. “An 8 year old furnace started making noise as the burner ignited and indicated something was not working properly. As the blower kicked on the noise would sometimes cease until the next cycling. Then a repeat performance. I called Applewood mid morning and was told a repairman would be there that day between 12 and 1 ...he would call before arrival. A call shortly after indicated a truck was on the way. Repairman arrived, listened to the noise...you have a vibration somewhere. He went into the attic, recycled , no problem, went to the basement, recycled again and after doing whatever he did.....repeated the cycling process…Vibration gone. Conclusion, one of the pumps had bearings that were worn......may work another 10 years maybe not. Solution...see how it goes and if noise returns a replacement pump is called for...

Applewood's staff is always courteous and professional. Their technicians are more than willing to go over everything with you and give you a complete price prior to starting the work. Last year our furnace quit working and Applewood had a technician over very quickly. He fixed the furnace and also looked at our air conditioner that had quit working the summer before. Both were up and running by the time he left. This year, the cold water in our shower wouldn't shut off. I didn't hesitate to call Applewood and have someone come out. Dear Applewood - Our family would like to let you know how much we appreciated the team of electricians who assisted us during our very scary, difficult electrical problems. We live in a 1919 bungalow that has not had any electrical problems in the six years we have lived here. However, in November we started to notice some new flickering of lights and Walt Frizzell was sent out to help us. We had many visits with Walt as he continued to find and treat old electrical wiring throughout our house.
We got to know Walt very well during these visits. He was always extremely friendly, caring and professional when he came to work on our house. Our entire family became friends with Walt, including our dog Pork who loved to supervise! Walt stood by his word to help us fix our electrical problem and we have the utmost respect towards him for standing by that.
As our problems continued we met more of your professional, kind electricians. Both Doug Warman and Lance Padilla went to great lengths to help us listen to the sizzling that literally was in our walls and ceiling, and then tracked down these issues by opening up our ceiling and walls. As our nightmare electrical issues continued, your electricians came over to help whenever we saw or heard more dangerous electrical sounds. They showed true concern about our safety, as well as attempted to fix our issues. Time after time they would find glowing conduit, burned out electrical boxes in the ceiling, etc. and did their best to ensure they had fixed the problem. Most times they would wait and watch for more flickering before leaving us, which was reassuring to us.
We would highly recommend Walt Frizzell, Doug Warman and Lance Padilla to anyone. They have proven over and over to us that they are extremely good at what they do. But beyond that, their professionalism was matched with good intentions and big hearts which counts for a lot these days.

I have a furnace that is about 25 years old. This past January we awoke to a very cold house and I realized the pilot light had gone out. I relit the pilot and the furnace worked fine and cycled off. The pilot went off again. This happened several times and I called Applewood Plumbing. We have used Applewood in the past and I have developed a trust in their service and technicians. Prior to the tech’s arrival I received a call from Applewood offering to send a picture of the technician and his qualifications. The technician arrived on schedule. He was courteous and conscientious. He checked all aspects of the furnace including the safety features. As it turns out all that was required was a thorough cleaning. The technician provided a checklist showing the feature he examined and each, including the safety features, received a clean bill of health. The technician could have easily said the furnace needed replacing and because of its age I would have believed him. I saved thousands of dollars. Applewood restored my faith in humanity. Our furnace went out last week, and we called around for someone to come take a look at it. I'm an HVAC engineer, and although I'm not completely familiar with the intricacies of residential furnaces, I do have a pretty good idea of what's going on. Before calling Applewood, I was coming to the conclusion that people just didn't exist anymore who both really knew how to repair equipment, and actually wanted to provide a useful service. When the first guy we called charged us $100 bucks for basically trying to sell us a furnace. The second company we called isn't worth discussing, because he didn't even offer a guess as to what the problem could be. When Chris from Applewood showed up at the door, I thought I detected a halo of light hovering over his head. After spending a few minutes diagnosing, while giving us a constant narrative of what he was doing and thinking, he simply changed the fan speed to use motor windings that were still in-tact. The whole furnace works great now. I know that eventually we will need to change out the motor, but I also know that we can probably go another year without spending a dime on it. Oh, and he didn't charge us a thing! Amazing. When we do actually need a new furnace, I'm certainly going to call these guys again. We woke up the other morning to a cold house. We checked the furnace to see if it was working. It was not, the pilot light had gone out. I relit the pilot and went to work. My wife called me a few hours later to say that the Carbon monoxide alarms were going off. We called Applewood Plumbing and Heating, we had used them years ago. It didn't take long to get a technician out to the house, and we were even sent an email with the technicians' picture and bio. It didn't take long to diagnose our problem. The furnace was shot. It was probably the original from when the house was built, close to 30 years old. The technician showed us all the problems, we did need a new furnace. We were given some options on new furnaces, no pressure tactics were used, we were given the choice of what we wanted to do. We picked the new furnace that we wanted and in 24 hours, we were in the heat. The work was done quickly with a lot of care. Our experience with Applewood was a good one. We will use again! My husband and I want to express our appreciation for the service provided by two members of your team. Keep in mind that both of us are legally blind, and maintenance problems become difficult for us to handle. After Christmas dinner (12 of us), the kitchen sink became hopelessly plugged. An emergency technician was sent out by a different plumbing company - no success! The following AM, another technician appeared, declared there was ‘ice on the roof’ and left. We never heard from him again. We had rented a condo in Keystone for the next few days and had to leave the mess until Monday the 28th. I called Applewood prior to our departure, and Thursday Kevin appeared - on time - in the afternoon. He assessed the situation and recommended high pressure water equipment for the next day. He was sympathetic and reassuring and seemed to care about my obvious distress. David came the following afternoon and quickly outlined the procedures he would be using. A friend of mine recommended Applewood to me - she had experienced some problems with her plumbing a couple of months before and told me how impressed she was with Applewood's professionalism and the quality of the work that she received. Applewood provided the most professional plumbing services I've ever had. My problem involved a lot of work and each visit, the team was timely, honest, completed the job as I expected, kept me informed as the work progressed and above all there was no mess left behind. Even when having to dig up my yard, my 2 year old bushes were put back in their place unharmed. They even covered the wheels of the equipment they needed to bring into the house, as well as booties on their feet, to avoid soil on the carpet. I've owned and managed single family home rentals for 30 years. In that time, I've tried a host of different plumbers and never found one I trusted and who did the work reasonably. And now Applewood Plumbing Heating & Electric came to my rescue. I cannot praise them enough. They were 100% professional from my initial phone call to the follow up call I received asking if I was satisfied with the service.
1. They called as the service man was heading toward my house to say they would email his photo and credentials. With all the unusual characters out there, this was very reassuring. He arrived wearing a badge with all his credentials and said he represents not only the company but himself.
2. Having just had my carpets cleaned, I was concerned that a service man might soil them. I didn't even have to mention it. He walked in with a pair of booties already in his hands. 3. He listened carefully as I explained my two problems. He investigated everything and gave a detailed explanation of what had to be done now and what should be done in the future. There was absolutely no pressure for me to do more than I could afford at the present.
4. He completed the work in a very reasonable time. 5. The charges were far less than I expected having spent thousands on other plumbers. 6. He filled out a very detailed form for future reference. An hour after he left, the company called to asses my satisfaction. I told them I was thrilled to finally have not just a good but an excellent plumber that I could call on at any time of day or night. This is an outstanding company with outstanding personnel. Very Pleased with Applewood! Initially, Walt Frizzell came on a Sunday to repair the light in our kitchen. We were pleased that there was no weekend charge. He recommended that we have a "Whole Home Surge Protection" installed and came back later to do that. He discovered that our breaker box panel was unsafe, because it had been manufactured by Federal Pacific Electrical Company. We decided to have it replaced. Also, since the original wiring of our house was aluminum, we decided to have it changed over to copper, at the same time. In the process of installing the new breaker box, Walt found that we had a water leak in our crawl space. He called the Applewood Office and Johnny Grosso came right away and fixed it. Walt and Johnny were both very courteous and professional. Walt, who did the majority of the work, was very neat in cleaning up after his work. Also, he was careful in moving our furniture to access the switches to complete the change to copper wiring. After each of the times that Walt and Johnny came, we received a very prompt call from the Applewood Office to check that the work had been satisfactorily completed. On November 23, we woke up to a cold house, 59 degrees and falling. I worked on the electronic thermostat to no avail as my wife had adjusted it late the night before and I thought erroneously that might be the problem. Here it was a few days before Thanksgiving when we will have a house full of hungry eaters and football fans. I called Applewood because they had an appealing ad in the DEX directory that indicated Better Business Bureau membership and a code of ethics. I spoke with a very professional woman who asked good questions and scheduled me for a two hour window that same day. Lo and behold the technician called and said he could be here and hour early which was ever better. He diagnosed and fixed the problem quickly and gave me other advice about furnace safety. The work to be done was to replace the sprinkler system shut off valve. I was very pleased that the technician sent to do the job was, "Chad". Chad was 100% professional. He was on time and he took the time that was necessary to explain and confirm that the shut off valve did indeed need to be replaced, accordingly. I've never had to call an electrician before, luckily. I looked up "electrician" in Google and Applewood seemed to have a lot of positive reviews. So I filled out their online form to schedule an appointment. Their superior customer service started from there when I got a phone call from Applewood no less than two minutes after completing their contact form! The woman I spoke with was very friendly and professional, and my appointment was set up right away. They had someone come out on a Saturday, and she told me that there are no additional charges for weekend appointments. That's a nice touch. They call you a bit before the appointment to confirm it, and the representative was friendly when they called me to confirm. They asked if I wanted information about the electrician emailed to me, and I gave them my email address. A minute later I had a picture of the electrician along with a brief list of his experience and a bit of personal information about him. It was good to "meet" the man coming over to my house, and it felt a lot more safe to me than other service calls do. It all felt very organized. My electrician was very, very polite and professional. He was neat and clean and wore shoe booties as soon as he came in even though I told him they weren't necessary where he was working. He fixed my electrical issue right away and then told me about their annual plan for maintenance. My house is six years old and it doesn't need much, yet, but it did need the furnace checked. By signing up for the annual plan he waved my current service fees (which I thought were very reasonable, anyway) and it would include the furnace maintenance. I'm probably going to continue the annual service plan next year. There are some goodies that come along with it, like priority service and multiple discounts. I have found an electrician! Dear Sirs, A few days before Labor Day our faucets in one bathroom could not be shut off. We called Applewood and they sent out Mr. Chad Matelski and that turned out to be our lucky day. Chad put on booties over his shoes and I could have hugged him! He fixed our faucets so well... I also mentioned to him that we had a bad smell in the bathroom after showering. He went to the basement with me, saw that the water level under our drain was too high... Now we don't have any smell and can't even see the water... When I told Chad that our furnace is 24 years old he advised me to buy 2 carbon monoxide detectors, showed me where in the house to put them and repeated it to us before he left. A few days later we had our first cold day. I had to turn the furnace on and within a few minutes both of our new detectors started ringing... I just want to take a moment to express my deep felt appreciation for the excellent service I received from representatives from your company. Where do I begin to express my gratitude... What I thought was a simple clogged sewer drain turned into a major three (3) event. I was feeling overwhelmed, frustrated, and scared by events that seemed so far out of my control. [Your technician's] calm, reassuring, professional manner immediately put me at ease and I knew I was dealing with an honest, straightforward man whom I could trust. [He] was kind, caring and empathetic. He patiently explained EVERYTHING, listened to my fears and concerns, answered my questions (some asked more than once and while fighting back tears!), and talked me through the process. I was very impressed by his ability to coordinate so many tasks yet he made me feel like his number one priority. He was not only friendly and courteous to me but I was impressed with the way he interacted with his crew, who was friendly and courteous as well, and with the various city personnel that kept appearing on the scene. The original estimate for the project was nearly a staggering $15,000, but by the end of the grueling three days that number was dropped to almost $7600. The Applewood company does periodic inspections of the Plumbing, A/C, Heating and Electric systems in your house at your convenience. They are professional, well trained and courteous. Their company logo is very visible on their vehicles, uniforms and documents. They are prepared to answer all your questions on the inspections they do. When they make repairs and updates in your home, they always continue until you are satisfied with the results. If the work they do leave a bit of a mess, they tidy up the work area before they depart. Pros: Getting what you pay for. Cons: Gold account costs a bit more, but worth it! -Kerrick, Colorado
