Applewood Plumbing Celebrates 50 Years of Plumbing and Giving in West Metro Denver

Applewood Plumbing Heating & Electric recently celebrated 50 years of service to the West metro area. The business, which was started in Lakewood in 1973 by John Ward, is in its third generation of ownership by members of the Ward family. Today, Josh Ward leads the Applewood business.

“It has been a real honor to serve so many homeowners over these 50 years and to be able to ensure we truly remain a family-owned business has been at the core of all our service,” Ward said.

The Denver Home Services Team That Cares

The company is comprised of 200 employees with more than 125 trucks on the road and provides service to more than 300,000 customers in the Denver Metro area, according to Ward. 

Applewood Plumbing Heating & Electric’s primary business is the repair and maintenance of residential and commercial systems for heating and cooling. However, the company is also well known in the community for giving back.

“Applewood’s community support stems from being a good neighbor and doing the right thing,” said Paula Washenberger, marketing director at Applewood Plumbing Heating & Electric. “Even in difficult economic times, we have not cut back on our commitment to support our communities where we work — in fact, we’re doing more than ever. As a local, family-owned company, we’re sustained by the community — and we do all we can to give that support back everywhere we can.”

Giving Back to Our Community

The business has been a long-time supporter of the Farmers 5000 in Wheat Ridge, various neighborhood schools’ fundraisers and local youth sports programs in Erie, Frederick, Westminster, Littleton and beyond, according to Ward.

The company prides itself in serving and servicing the communities along the Front Range and across the Denver Metro area. 

“We’ve seen a lot of changes from technology to skills to stocked trucks, yet, our customer service has remained the same since the beginning and has allowed us to serve the Denver metro area for 50 years,” Ward said.
