Two Fur One: Feed Hungry Pets While Preparing Your Furnace For Winter

During the month of September, Applewood Plumbing Heating & Electric is offering a $99 14-point furnace check with proceeds going to Colorado Pet Pantry, a longtime partner of Applewood.
“We are thrilled to continue our relationship with Colorado Pet Pantry, an organization who shares our love for pets,” said Josh Ward, Applewood Plumbing Heating & Electric owner, “This program helps pets but also emphasizes the importance of your family’s safety with a well-operating heating system.”
You can prepare for winter by replacing your furnace filter every other month, but a regular maintenance checkup can ensure your furnace is working efficiently. Additionally, upgrading your heating equipment can save upwards of 7.6 tons of carbon emissions each year, according to Energy.gov.
Applewood’s Furnace Checks for Charity provides the $99 rate, which the customer pays directly to Colorado Pet Pantry to support their initiatives. Colorado Pet Pantry has received nearly $30,000 and helped 1,880 families by providing food for more than 5,600 dogs and cats across Colorado. Colorado Pet Pantry is the largest nonprofit organization of its kind on a mission to feed hungry pets so families can strengthen their ability to enhance their pets’ quality life.
“Thanks to Applewood, Coloradans know that support for their pets is just a call or visit away,” said Eileen Lambert, executive director of Colorado Pet Pantry.
Applewood recommends having a trained HVAC professional examine your furnace in the fall before temperatures drop.
