Applewood Plumbing Heating & Electric is an official sponsor of the Dumb Friends League and will take part in the 2018 Furry Scurry event on May 5 at Washington Park. In addition to being an event sponsor, Applewood will also be entering the walk/race with a team of employees aptly named the “Plumbdog Millionaires.”
“Here at Applewood, we are dedicated to helping all our furry friends in the community as much as we are our customers,” said John Ward, president of Applewood Plumbing Heating & Electric. “Make sure to stop by our tent to pick up all the fun giveaways.”
Applewood has long had a presence at the Furry Scurry but this year will be extra special as they will be bringing a very special guest to meet attendees and support the DFL’s mission. The Colorado Avalanche’s mascot, Bernie, will be making an appearance at Applewood’s tent with a meet and greet between 8-9 a.m., just before the race/walk starts. Applewood will also be giving away pet swag for any attendees that stop by, including dog waste bags and bandanas for your favorite pet.
The Furry Scurry is the Dumb Friends League’s premier fundraiser for the year. The event raises money for the more than 22,000 homeless animals in the shelter’s care. To further support the cause, Applewood will have a coupon available, at this event only, good for a $99 AC System Check with 100 percent of the proceeds going directly to the Dumb Friends League.
