Applewood Plumbing Heating & Electric awards the September $1,000 Caring Community Giveaway to Arising Hope.
Arising Hope provides a safe place of love, healing and empowerment to victims of domestic violence. They offer safe emergency shelter and housing; as well as many other resources and services that assist survivors, their children and their pets into a life free from fear and abuse.
“It’s encouraging to know that there are organizations in our community providing assistance to victims of domestic abuse,” said John Ward, president of Applewood Plumbing Heating & Electric. “We’re honored to be able to help Arising Hope.”
Arising Hope was founded by a survivor of domestic violence who was committed to helping give hope to other victims who found themselves in a similar situation. Desperate to assist in ending the effects of domestic violence; the president and founder started Arising Hope in a single family, three bedroom and two bathroom house in Denver, Colorado.
Arising Hope provides counseling and classes which offer hope and healing to victims of domestic abuse. Their goal is to help empower survivors and guide them to a life free from abuse. The staff and volunteers at Arising Hope will assist victims on legal concerns, safety planning, secondary housing, transportation, life-skills coaching, employment and/or job training and any other area of concern.
Arising Hope also provides educational presentations to churches, schools, companies and government organizations about the impact of domestic violence on the community.
