Disability Organization to Benefit from Applewood to Caring Community Giveaway

Applewood Plumbing Heating & Electric will hold its quarterly $5,000 Caring Community Giveaway to benefit local nonprofit organizations that specialize in helping individuals with disabilities.

The featured nonprofits in this quarter’s Giveaway were nominated by Applewood employees. The three nominated organizations include: Seniors’ Resource Center, Phamaly Theatre Company and the National Sports Center for the Disabled. The public can vote on Applewood’s website, through June 28, 2022.

“This quarter, our Caring Community Giveaway is unique because our employees nominated several organizations that exclusively help individuals with disabilities,” said Josh Ward, owner of Applewood. “I’m happy that Applewood can donate to one of these three outstanding organizations that make quite the impact on our community by providing essential resources.”

Seniors’ Resource Center is the Denver area’s largest nonprofit dedicated to services for disabled older adults, their families and caregivers. Their programs include adult day programs, in-home care, care management, senior advocacy and more. These services enable the older adults with disabilities to remain in their homes, which allows them to continue being independent, engaged and thriving. Today, SRC provides resources and advocacy to more than 24,500 people a year.

Phamaly Theatre Company exclusively features actors with disabilities. PTC gives actors a supportive space to explore and develop their craft, which empowers artists within their disability identity. PTC strives to educate the community about access and inclusion, while entertaining audiences with high-quality, award-winning theatre.

National Sports Center for the Disabled creates adaptive outdoor recreation experiences to improve access, opportunities and possibilities for people living with disabilities. These experiences help participants make the very most of their passions, talents and aspirations. With adaptive equipment and renowned coaches, instructors and volunteers, the participants discover a renewed sense of confidence, motivation to try new things, meet new people and most importantly believe in their disabilities.

Over the past 16 years, Applewood has donated more than $250,000 to local nonprofits in the Denver-metro area through the Caring Community Giveaway.
