Applewood Plumbing’s Fall Caring Community Giveaway Focuses on Hunger Relief Nonprofits
As summer reaches an end, Applewood Plumbing Heating & Electric is opening voting from Aug. 10 through Aug. 25 for their quarterly Caring Community Giveaway. This fall, the Caring Community Giveaway is recognizing local nonprofits that are helping feed their communities.
Every quarter, the family-owned business receives nominations from their employees of local nonprofit organizations that share a common purpose and are making a difference in the greater metro-Denver and Boulder areas. Once the organizations are chosen, Applewood asks for the community to vote on which nonprofit organization should be the winner of a $5,000 donation. The organization with the most votes will receive this quarter’s award.
“We are beyond excited to continue giving back to our community this fall through our Caring Community Giveaway,” said Josh Ward, owner of Applewood Plumbing Heating & Electric. “Each of these nonprofit organizations have done a wonderful job addressing hunger relief in our communities, and we can’t wait to help them with their mission.”
The organizations in this quarter’s Caring Community Giveaway include:
Project Angel Heart provides medically-tailored meals through their home-delivered meal program for Coloradans living with severe illness.
Food for Thought Denver works to eliminate weekend hunger for children by providing weekend food bags (PowerSacks). Food For Thought Denver services 75 Denver area schools, sending home PowerSacks able to sustain the child over a weekend.
Feeding Denver’s Hungry reaches out to nourish and meet the physical needs of the underserved and overburdened by providing sack lunches full of food options and during the winter months, slightly used hats, gloves, coats, blankets and survival gear are also provided.
