Applewood to Sponsor 26th Annual Furry Scurry

Applewood Plumbing Heating & Electric “Plumb dog Millionaires” will once again take to the trails, or better the Washington Park path, as part of the Dumb Friends League’s 26th Furry Scurry on Saturday, May 4 at 9 a.m.

Participants, dog lovers and community members alike can stop by the Applewood booth in the “Flea-less Market” to meet Colorado Avalanche mascot, Bernie, who will be signing autographs and taking pictures.  Applewood will have fun doggy swag and special offers as part of the festivities.

“We have participated in the Furry Scurry event for several years as part of our employee wellness program,” said John Ward, president of Applewood Plumbing Heating & Electric. “Our staff gets out with their pets and walks together, giving both a chance to get some exercise and enjoy Colorado’s sunshine for a good cause.”

Applewood is a sponsor and partners with DFL on several events during the year. The fundraising event increases awareness and raises funds to assist an estimated 20,000 homeless pets that are brought into shelters each year, according to DFL. Donations allow the League to provide medical care to the animals, behavioral training for adoption and investigations for animal cruelty. More than 12,000 participants and 5,000 dogs are expected to attend and walk the two-mile course around the park.
