Caring Community Giveaway: Applewood Plumbing Donates $5,000 to Brent’s Place

Applewood Plumbing Heating and Electric recently awarded its $5,000 quarterly Caring Community Giveaway to Brent’s Place, a local Colorado nonprofit that provides housing resources.

“The Caring Community Giveaway allows us to turn our daily presence in local neighborhoods into direct, impactful support for the nonprofits that keep Colorado strong,” said Josh Ward, owner of Applewood Plumbing Heating and Electric.

Brent’s Place provides temporary housing for pediatric and adult patients undergoing highly specialized medical treatments. Named after the founder’s son, who passed away while fighting cancer, the Colorado organization helps protect immunocompromised individuals so families can stay together and focus on healing.

“Thanks to the steadfast generosity of community partners like Applewood, Brent’s Place stands as a beacon of hope and healing, transforming lives when it matters most,” said Monique McCoy, Vice President of External Affairs.

The theme for this quarter’s giveaway was “Helping Families Through Illness.” The other organizations nominated, Project Angel Heart and the Rocky Mountain Children’s Health Foundation, will both receive $500 from Applewood for their efforts helping families in need. All three nominees were selected by Applewood employees, while the final winner was determined by the public.

“Applewood cares about the needs of the people we serve,” said Ward. “We know those needs often go far beyond home repairs.”

Supporting Colorado Nonprofits Each Quarter

Applewood Plumbing Heating and Electric hosts its Caring Community Giveaway every quarter, with a new theme chosen each time.

The employees get to nominate charities that are important to them, then the public gets to vote on the winner. The Giveaway started 22 years ago and has donated more than $350,000 to local organizations.
