Applewood’s Winter Caring Community Giveaway Begins

Applewood is once again gearing up for their quarterly $5,000 Caring Community Giveaway. In light of the recent fires that have devastated Colorado forests, Applewood employees chose to focus this quarter’s giveaway on supporting the preservation of the environment.

The three featured organizations for this quarter’s Giveaway are: Conservation Colorado, Colorado Fourteeners Initiative and Wildlands Restoration Volunteers. Each organization is working to ensure Colorado’s climate, pristine mountains and open spaces benefit from conservation efforts.

Conservation Colorado works to protect Colorado’s climate, air, land, water and communities by cleaning the environment, promoting clean energy, pushing policy and engaging leaders in conservation. This organization has already helped to update Colorado mining laws, get Brown’s Canyon designated as a national monument and protect the habitat of the Greater Sage Grouse.

Colorado Fourteeners Initiative’s mission is to preserve and protect the integrity of Colorado’s Fourteeners. The group organizes the building of sustainable trails, the restoration of trails and natural landscapes, the maintenance of the trails and the education of all those who enjoy the beauty of Colorado’s Fourteeners.

Wildlands Restoration Volunteers organizes thousands of volunteers each year to complete more than 100 wildlands conservation projects. These projects vary from the pulling of noxious weeds and planting of trees and native seeds to the restoration of trails and land destroyed by wildfires. They hope to create a feeling of shared responsibility for ecologically-significant lands across Colorado.

Applewood is leaving the decision to the community to decide which of these three worthy organizations will be receiving the $5,000 Caring Community Giveaway. Voting begins Friday, Nov. 6 and ends Nov. 20 at 12:00 p.m.

Community members can submit their vote on Applewood’s Facebook page (@applewoodPHE) or via their website at https://www.applewoodfixit.com/caring-community-vote/. These votes will determine the winner.
